Testimonials... This is just a note from Servicios Juridicos Integrados, a Guatemalan based Law firm, better know to the adoption community for it's branch called Adoption-Supervisors, the ones with the dash in the middle. The following is not necessarily meant as any recommendation, it's just a summary of our thoughts concerning KaringAngelsInternational ( and could please somebody point out for them that it's supposed to be a "C" here for caring -:), thoughts perhaps a bit randomly and the way they are coming to our minds here, but most of all it's about Ms. April Coburn Viola and her tireless efforts ..... but no, and not because this thought would be wrong here at all ... but it's not really just about her tireless efforts to render her clients the best and most personalized services possible, that certainly too, but it's about her doing the impossible to unite a very needed child with his or her forever family, to provide a child with a loving home and a future ! But lets cut the flowers for a second and lets look at what is important about an agency ? Of course, a professional attention to the needs and uncertainties of a client; certainly also straight and clear explanations about the process to take place in a strange and foreign country, and needless to add that a quick time frame is certainly also most desirable, too. And that's all perfectly fine, but just politically correct explanations and updates, kind of a cold business transaction based on explaining explicit legal procedures, updates and photos and medical reports the day they are promised ... but dear Ladies and Gentleman, aren't we missing here something after all ? Aren't we missing the things which distinguish people like April from a good deal of most other agencies we ever dealt with ? Oh yes, to our believes we do ! Because you see, oh well, you likely know it in fact already, but an adoption is a process as stressful as a natural pregnancy. And all the grown belly issues aside, but an adoption parent needs the very same love and encouragement and support as any other parents and mother giving natural birth; it's equally stressful, if not even more ! And that's what distinguishes April from almost all other agencies we know. Her professional efforts are perfectly at the side with the best and most efficient agencies we ever had the pleasure to get to know, but it's this her human component, this so deep understanding and true caring, but most of all this absolute and devoted love to a child in needs, well, that's what makes April in our opinion the hero of all this children here, their Karing - Angel by all means. Actually she's a silent hero, who rather prefers to act and to give, without making a big deal out of it and to rather keep silent about her deeds, because they are coming from her heart, nor from any whatever other possible interests. And we are not kidding in the least. But of course, why wouldn't we, because when we first checked out her web site, we sort of had all not so kind thoughts here ... a child is a gift from God and oh yes, we're doing charity work, too ... now lets be frank here, 90% off all agencies state something like this, in one way or an other, and very often it's nothing more than a cheap PR effort to log and haul clients. But April is different folks, why we don't know exactly either, perhaps life just polished the diamond she was always anyway, but we are grateful she and people like her still exist in this world. Because those people do make a differences. But they do it in silent and without loosing much words. But now please help us spin a though here, because when and under what circumstances do you really get to know a person and what's he or she is made of ? If everything is peachy and working fine, no big deal for anybody, all credits are granted automatically. But you do get to know a person and agency once things are not peachy but troubled. That's when you really start to understand with whom you are actually dealing with. And that was the scenario we actually got to meet April quite a not so short time ago. And it was kind of impressive to us, because normally when problem rise on an adoption, the first thing most agencies do is to block and to hide information, to safeguard themselves, for to say so. But not April though, because in her mind, and in reality it absolutely was that way, she simply hadn't done anything wrong and much less would she be the person trying to hide a problem at all; she'd rather address it in a straight and honest way and without any fussing around. So well, to our fond surprise, one day we received an email from her, very polite, presenting herself and lining out her respective functions and obligation, thanking us for having taken the case of this respective parent, further on giving us all additional information and her fond assurances to please let her know the second she could be on any further help here. To make a long story short, this adoption was unfortunately the victim of a main team who for years had a quite well reputation, but eventually turned bad and things went kind of suddenly down the drain. But ultimately it worked out and during this whole time April acted like a lion protecting her cub here, the precious child she placed with an adoption parent, the gift from God who had to come home. The following here is a bit on the funny side, nevertheless absolutely true, our Law firm and our way of work is comparable to the old saying that speed is our middle name ... but the funny part now, because we truly remember that sometimes it was simply mind boggling ... on more than one occasion we barely just had the information on this case for perhaps some ten minutes at it's best ... but there was already an email from April in our inbox, asking for the current status and asking if there'd be anything she could do from her end. And sometimes we indeed sent her after the main team and she did so with the fierceness of a blood hound .... because again, this was a child from God she placed with an adoption parent. Oh yes, and the charity part. Oh well, on one of our emails someday we must have rambled a bit, talking a bit of our country down here, but that was long after this adoption got concluded. Anyhow, one day we mentioned rather as a side note a little village and community far down at the Atlantic coast, where our firm is active on private aide and helping people develop. Party it's a disaster aid when storms and floods strike, sometimes we also have a couple of little projects running down here, our private projects in fact, sending a dentist down for 3 days, or some water filters to purify the water people take out of a well way to shallow due to the surrounding river, but most of all we focus on the education of the youngsters down there, making efforts to have them graduate and afterwards studying ... yep, including Law -:) To make a long story short, April back then asked us a couple of few further questions which we gladly answered her, then the subject was apparently closed. But if you know April, then you know that this subject was only apparently closed for her, because like said she doesn't really talk a lot about such. And about a week before Christmas this year, being the year 2007, we received a donation from her for this village, of course, having most of all the children in minds and suggesting to buy them perhaps some toys for to start with. But that we already had done ourselves in Nov., so April's donation will be used for educational purposes. And despite that we are too polite to actually mention the amount of the donation, but it was significant, you can take our word here. Now well, re-reading the above, we normally would change or correct a couple of expressions, making them sound perhaps a bit less personal and make them sound a bit much more in the language of a Law firm, but we won't, because this are our honest thoughts about April and KaringAngelsInt. And we stand to those thoughts the way we wrote them.
Thank you for your role in bringing this wonderful "angel" into our family. She is a darling whose presence is truly a blessing and a complete breath of fresh air for every facet of our "family."
"Thank you for all the hard work, patience and storming of the heavens you did on our case. Our son is truly a gift from above "
